- Find A (Root) on the piano keyboard
- Play B (Major second) — 2 semitones above A
- Play C# (Major third) — 4 semitones above A
- Play E (Perfect fifth) — 7 semitones above A
- Play F# (Major sixth) — 9 semitones above A
- Play all 5 notes in ascending order to perform the A major pentatonic scale
