The A locrian mode consists of the A (Perfect unison), Bb (Minor second), C (Minor third), D (Perfect fourth), Eb (Diminished fifth), F (Minor sixth) and G (Minor seventh) notes.
How to play the A locrian mode
- Find A (Root) on the piano keyboard
- Play Bb (Minor second) — 1 semitone above A
- Play C (Minor third) — 3 semitones above A
- Play D (Perfect fourth) — 5 semitones above A
- Play Eb (Diminished fifth) — 6 semitones above A
- Play F (Minor sixth) — 8 semitones above A
- Play G (Minor seventh) — 10 semitones above A
- Play all 7 notes in ascending order to perform the A locrian mode
