The B lydian mode consists of the B (Perfect unison), C# (Major second), D# (Major third), F (Diminished fifth), F# (Perfect fifth), G# (Major sixth) and A# (Major seventh) notes.

How to play the B lydian mode

  1. Find B (Root) on the piano keyboard
  2. Play C# (Major second) — 2 semitones above B
  3. Play D# (Major third) — 4 semitones above B
  4. Play F (Diminished fifth) — 6 semitones above B
  5. Play F# (Perfect fifth) — 7 semitones above B
  6. Play G# (Major sixth) — 9 semitones above B
  7. Play A# (Major seventh) — 11 semitones above B
  8. Play all 7 notes in ascending order to perform the B lydian mode
