The F lydian mode consists of the F (Perfect unison), G (Major second), A (Major third), B (Diminished fifth), C (Perfect fifth), D (Major sixth) and E (Major seventh) notes.

How to play the F lydian mode

  1. Find F (Root) on the piano keyboard
  2. Play G (Major second) — 2 semitones above F
  3. Play A (Major third) — 4 semitones above F
  4. Play B (Diminished fifth) — 6 semitones above F
  5. Play C (Perfect fifth) — 7 semitones above F
  6. Play D (Major sixth) — 9 semitones above F
  7. Play E (Major seventh) — 11 semitones above F
  8. Play all 7 notes in ascending order to perform the F lydian mode
